FAQ FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

I want to know how much this tattoo will cost?

Your best option is to find an artist on our ARTISTS page, and find someone whos work you jive with.  You can then send them a DM or an email. Serious inquiries only please, and be sure to include as much information as possible (detailed description, size, style, placement, flow, colours, reference photos, etc.) as well as your full name! Thanks!

 

Where are you located?

We are located at #303, 1235 17th Ave SW, Calgary, Alberta. For more detailed instructions see the "Getting There" page.

 

How much do you charge?

Our rates differ from artist to artist, but average between $100/hr and $200+/hr.

 

Can I get a deal?

No. Rates are set, and it's considered rude to ask for a deal. We do have some flash pieces up for grabs that are priced at discounted flat rates though! You can also join our email list for exclusive offers.

 

Where can I view your flash pieces at flat rates?

Each artist will have their own artwork on their own Instagrams. The shop page will also repost these often, so you can follow us here.

 

How can I view artist portfolios?

All of our artists portfolios are linked on our Instagram page, @forsaken.tc

 

What is the booking process?

The easiest way to get booked in is to DM or email the artist you want, or fill out the form at the bottom of this page.. Please include details of the work you are interested in (detailed description, size, style, placement, flow, colours, reference photos, etc.) as well as your full name and the dates you were hoping to book.

From there, we can decide whether to book you for an appointment, or if necessary, a consultation.

If no consultation is needed, we will agree on a date, and we will request a deposit to book the spot.

 

How will I know if I need a consult or not?

Usually we require a consultation for bigger work, so we can sit down and plan it out together. Consultations are free, and we will let you know if we recommend one for your particular piece.

 

How do deposits work?

When we book your appointment, we will always require a non-refundable deposit to save the spot in the schedule. The cost of this will differ from artist to artist. The deposit will go directly towards the last session of that tattoo, provided you show up on time, clean and sober. Dates can be moved a maximum of twice as long as we have at least 4 days notice, otherwise you will be required to send a new deposit.

 

What are your shop hours?

We are currently by appointment only, but feel free to come in and check if anyone is around, as there usually is someone working!

How safe is it to get tattooed by you?

Very safe. Tattooing in the modern day has become much safer than it was throughout history. We use all the proper disinfectants, use single use needles and barriers, maintain strict cleaning habits, and are certified in BBP in the body modification industry. The most important part of tattooing to me is our client's safety.

 

How long has your shop been open?

We have been open since August 2022.

 

Can I bring my friend with me?

Yes, as long as they are cool and don't get in the way. If the shop is super busy, they may be asked to leave, but there is lots to do on 17th Ave while they wait.

 

How do I take care of my tattoo?

You will receive aftercare instructions at the end of each tattoo session.

 

How can I become a tattoo artist?

You need to devote your entire life to it. It's the farthest thing from a hobby, and its not even a job. It's a lifestyle and a way of being. You must have a good knowledge of the basics of art and drawing, and then can pursue an apprenticeship at one of your local shops, under someone whose work you respect.
